We are pleased to announce that Omega Engineering Services (OES) Ltd, a specialist engineering and manufacturing company, has been awarded AS9100 Revision D aerospace quality management systems by global certification body IMS International, following a successful transition and audit with over 100 additional QMS requirements.
The delayed publication of the standard AS9100:2016/Revision D late last year has put clients holding AS9100 Rev C under pressure to transition by the September 2018 deadline.
Emphasising its commitment to the aerospace sector, OES began the process of transition a year ahead of the deadline.
Amie Hewett, QHSE Officer at OES said: “In August 2017, we took the step of being one of the first companies in the UK to be audited to the new AS9100 Revision D standard, which included six ‘man’ days of audits across the whole site encompassing design, manufacturing, purchasing and sales.”
The changes required are demanding including greater involvement and accountability of top management, increased analysis of the supply chain and risk prevention and mitigation throughout the quality system.
We urge all businesses requiring this standard to act now, the deadline is now only 10 months away. Don’t risk losing your certification. For more information about AS9100 Revision D, speak to one of our experienced auditors.
