ISO 14001: Environmental Management Systems
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems. It is applicable to any type of organisation regardless of size, location or business sector. Implementation of ISO 14001 provides you with a way to track, manage and improve environmental performance.
More and more businesses are realising their environmental obligation to lower their carbon footprint and improve environmental processes. As a result, environmental credibility is becoming a very important factor in national and international competitiveness.
Reduce waste, increase value
Reducing environmental impact by decreasing energy costs, lowering disposal costs, and treating solid and hazardous waste are just some of the ways companies are able to save money and improve their corporate image.
ISO 14001 can cut environmental-related costs thereby helping you to increase profits as well as opening up more business opportunities. It can also reduce or eliminate the chances of legal action from environmental agencies.
Basic ISO 14001 requirements:
- Comply with national and international environmental law and legislation
- Prevent pollution or negative environmental impact by your organisation
- Develop and implement effective environmental controls in line with the global standards and benchmarks
- Develop environmental solutions for your business

"As this was my 1st time leading an audit I was very happy with the way my 2 auditors explained and went through the audit process with me. Thank you."
"Many thanks for the report, Martin. And thank you to Steve and Paul too. As you know, this re-assessment was a major piece of work to us as we needed a new Quality/Environmental system that will support SYSTRA in its development in the coming months and years. It was very reassuring for us to receive your feedback and we are obviously delighted with the result. All of the staff you spoke to were very positive regarding yourselves. It can be daunting for staff to be ‘interviewed’ by an external auditor as they all realise the importance of the audit. However you all set everyone at ease, so thank you very much indeed. We are looking forward to moving forward with our new IMS across the business. Lots of challenges ahead! We look forward to working with you in the future."
